I think you'll find (500) Days of Summer is classed as a chick flick though. Some female friends of mine went to see it when it first came out, but my guy friends refused to go, saying it was one of those 'girly movies'.

I like Richard Curtis, and I dont mind Hugh Grant. I dont see why you always have to feel and grasp the 'tense cinematic experience' of a movie - cant you just enjoy it? I like plenty of movies that dont have any intense and worthy plot for existing, I just like them because they make me smile.

Of course chick flicks arent real, and theyre obviously far-fetched and cheesy, but sometimes its good to take a break and just enjoy a movie you dont have to analize in your brain the entire time.
