^ I agree with you there, but I was mostly speaking about how the indie label came about.
Radiohead is strictly speaking mainstream, but they are still considered indie because of their style of music, for example.
But many indie bands are starting to sound the same (every emo band for instance, and many indie pop bands <-- contradiction in itself) because humans naturally conform!
