Its the same reason I don't bother talking about techno. Its all a pacman soundtrack to me. The deal with pop is to find value in melody. In some regards, that a value in recycling. Any theory book, looking into melody is going to say its very easy to come up with some that are already being used.

In some respects its about layering melodies over other melodies, running them through different instruments, or giving them different roles.

I don't know many better pop songs than beyonces "sweet dream" or whatever the **** it was called. Its a monster. As for gaga, I don't know what song I'd pick but "just dance" or "paporazzi" are fairly high for me as a standout track.
What does "it's a monster" mean?

From my point of view, going on radio play (as that's generally the only time I listen to pop), most of Lady Gaga's material sounds like generic pop that, to be honest, anybody with her vocal ability could come along and belt out. And I appreciate she writes a lot of her own material, but not being into the whole pop genre particuarly, when all I hear is what's on the radio or what was given to us as a set playlist, it's difficult for me to distinguish her musically as something spectacular. Same as I can admit that Beyonce has one of the best voices around - doesn't mean I think her material is fantastic. And, unfortunately, for me most of Beyonce's and Lady Gaga's stuff, when played on the radio or TV just blends into a generic background for me, different as it may be from eachother.

Trust me, I've tried - I'd never try and slate an artist I haven't given a chance of listening to - but unfortunately my opinions haven't changed...

To an extent I agree, but I get a little sad because I can hold up my hands and say that I love 80s pop (though maybe more for nostalgic reasons??) so I don't want to have to give up on pop as a whole!
I was less focused on how much they stand out to you and more focused on your rating of artists.
What I want to say is that everyone is entitled to their own opinion about any artist. But if you're going to talk about ratings or style here, it's quite obvious that Beyonce doesn't belong with Kesha or Katy Perry, and besides that one song they did together, Lady Gaga shouldn't be grouped with her either.
Any opinion is valid, I suppose, but I guess when you group them that way, all I can think is, "How can she not see the differences?"
And I know exactly what you mean about things standing out. I have a far more controversial opinion on that considering The Beatles don't stand out to me in a positive way.
I do know what you mean in a way, though.
