Well I'm not really a big fan of neo-garage rock so I'm not the best person ask, and I'm sure you're familiar with the Strokes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I just know that in the early 00s a huge chunk of American indie-ish music was coming out of Brooklyn and garage rock was a part of that.
