If I had the same set of criteria for choosing every single band/song/music I listen to, all my music would sound the same.
My only 'criteria' (and I use that word hesitantly as this doesnt apply to all the music I listen to- e.g. classical music) is that the music has to be composed/written by the musician. So no Justin Bieber or Miley Cyrus, as they don't write the music themselves. This is because I feel the music is translated better towards the listener if the performer also wrote the song.
