STP debut 1992 and Bush 1995 also I recognize that Bush are often seen as post-grunge but lets face it, they sound like a terrible Nirvana covers band and initially didn`t bring anything new to grunge to be called post. At least the other so called post grunge bands had their own sound which was as diverse as the grunge bands before them.
I think that post-grunge could really be applied to anything that sounded grungy and had a distinctive grunge influence, which is why I think of groups like Foo Fighters as the leading light in this movement in a very life affirming way.
