I do wish you luck on that...I don't find the Richard D. James album to be "accessible" electronic at all. I find with IDM, you either are really into percussion based music to begin with and will like it off the bat or you are just tired of the 4/4 craziness of most other electronic/dance music. I feel most other people wouldn't like it too much.
If you find it hard to get into that album, don't give up on good ol Richie. Go check out his EP Come to Daddy. Much more accessible, in my opinion.
