Oh yeah I can totally see why they were compared. For me their first 3 records are absolutely untouchable, my favourite being their third, Black Market Music. Unfortunately I wasn't overwhelmed by the last 3 albums which is really sad, but I still love them a fucking lot. I could go as far as saying I actually strongly dislike Battle For The Sun, I just don't 'get it' at all, and its scary because I really don't see what direction Placebo could take after this. Maybe they'll disband, hopefully not though

I remember the first time I heard Narcoleptic. It was pretty crazy, I'd never felt so moved by a song before and I'd certainly never connected to a band like Placebo before. It was a great feeling and they still float my boat to this day.
