Early nineties rock was absolutely amazing, mind blowing stuff... the second generation of grunge was, well kinda forgettable, but you also had the development of post - rock, so it was redeemable! Overall I thought the nineties was one of the strongest decades in rock overall, but right now, it's just become unfashionable to be a 90's music freak, because, well, that's how it goes. We all lamented the eighties in the nineties. I suspect that in the coming years we'll all say the 00's were crap, and that the nineties were where it's at. It's all to do with which generation is in the position of power with regards to dictating fashion, public opinion, etc...
