I just saw the preview yesterday. At first my interest was all piqued..."Oo! A lake under a lake! What are they going to discover?! Some cool prehistoric creatures?"
But then, no. It was just a bunch of biting fish. Hopefully the piranhas can at least do something new like bore under people's skin and then bite them from the inside out.
I'd really like to see a movie in which insects around the world become resistant to pesticides, and so all sorts of people start getting some of these awful jungle infections, such as when little worms end up floating through your eyeballs. I think that would be much more disturbing than watching fish eat people, although the theme of nature getting its revenge by doing to people exactly what many people do to other animals is always one that interests me.
I wonder how the Piranha movie makers are going to turn a beach evacuation into a 2 hour movie. It seems like a few people would just need to shout "Shark!" and the beaches would be cleared in about 3 seconds, voila, problem solved!
