Classic rock is a particularly useless grouping though, in my opinion. I certainly don't think of Black Sabbath as a 'classic rock' band by any stretch of the imagination.

At least these sub genre terms attempt to put bands with similar sounds and techniques together. Classic rock just takes whatever was old and happens to be a rock song and throws it together.
