Hating on Pitchfork is as lame as worshipping them--they're a magazine that caters to a specific clientele and that's kind of it. And like any other review site, you have to learn how to read them; one might not always agree with their opinions, but you can usually tell whether or not something sounds interesting based on what they write about it if you get used to how they write.

Also, it's apparently an unpopular opinion to be fairly indifferent to Animal Collective. They're not bad or anything, but I really don't get the "I hate 'indie' except Animal Collective" thing. Even disregarding how broad so-called-indie is, it just seems like there are a lot more interesting bands... *shrug*
