Edit: before I go, I think this might be a good place to ask about James Taylor & Jackson Browne? Anyone got some good songs/albums or info on them? Of the two artists the only song I have heard is Browne's "Runnin' On Empty" which is good, but I have a feeling doesn't even begin to tell how good he really is. Thanks!
I would highly recommend Willie's "Red Headed Stranger" album, worth it just for "Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain".

Jackson Browne's first five albums are all great, "Jackson Browne". "For Everyman", "Late For The Sky", "The Pretender" & "Running On Empty". After that it gets a bit patchy.

"These Days" is from "For Everyman" it was written when Jackson was only sixteen.
