Agreed... As for lyrical flourishes, this album doesn't shine much. He feels like he's been living with a city with no children in it? Doesn't really work off any other line in the song, nor does it sound very evocative on its own... I suppose the 'children' thing pinpoints it to youth, but pretty much
all Arcade Fire lyrics (at least try to) do that.
