Mr. Urban, I think you are mistranslating. Lady Gaga seems to have very strong convictions to me...and she certainly has guts...well, flesh...coming out of every pore practically.
I think Gaga just wanted to tell vegans/vegetarians that she didn't mean to make them feel bad, but not because she worried anyone would stop buying her albums due to her meat outfit.
Few musicians (except vegetarian ones) would ever need to worry about reduced record sales due to offending vegans and ovo-lacto vegetarians, since we make up a very tiny part, only around 4%, of the population in the U.S....and vegans such as myself are probably only around a tenth of that number. Alas, our sinister plot to take over the world is progressing slowly.
And as for the general omnivorous public, I see no reason for them to be offended by Lady Gaga's outfits since, as Goblin Tears says, wearing meat is...

Lady Gaga's outfit is just a little, er,
fresher than the leather jackets and pants and shoes and furs that many people wear all the time. Well, not the leather pants, maybe.
Those are pretty darn fresh. So I don't see any reason she would feel the need to be defensive about her decision to wear meat or fear plunging record sales as a result.
