Actually, I think what she did was pretty smart. Whether or not she had a thing for him and he actually blew her off and all that doesn't matter. What dopey teenage girl doesn't dream of doing something like this to a guy that wouldn't give her the time of day or embarrassed her? Hell, as an adult I sometimes daydream about similar things :P: She probably even connected with won the approval of girls that weren't fans of hers to begin with. Don't get me wrong; I'm not saying it was a respectable thing to do. It was a thundercunt move, but a smart one.
