I've been expanding my knowledge of this guy's work and it just seems to get more and more intriguing. Albeit nothing has toppled The Ascension for me, but nothing has sounded atypical yet. Then again, I've just been streaming and haven't heard full albums, but I'm getting on that soon enough. With Sonic Youth as one of my towering bands, it's only natural that I'd gravitate towards this guy someday.

Also, I must back up the recommendation of A Crimson Grail; I did check it out and its massive droning proportions can only be understood at threateningly high decibels through quality speakers. I may have lost 30% of my natural hearing from it, but I don't care! For those who'd like a more compositionally up-front Stars of the Lid with more focus on the guitar than SOTL ever did, I'd recommend it.
