Well, you put a lot more work into that post then I did. I was just mentioning what impressed me about them. To each his own...I know plenty of people who don't like them. Their albums may have done consistently well, but I was referring more to the feeling everyone had about them during those times. In the 80's, Hillel died...everyone thought they were done. They still managed to release Mother's Milk and then BSSM after that. Then John left and everyone thought they were done. One Hot Minute may have had a couple charters but no one felt it was a true Chili Peppers album with Dave. Then John comes back and Californication hits it big...bringing us to today. Anyway, I wasn't saying you owe them respect because of these things, I was just saying why I respect them.
