There's nothing more depressing than seeing a song you love with the words (DJ Moron mix) after them.
There is nothing artistic about sticking some generic beat over something, using a fuckload of electronic effects over it and then crowbarring in some of the original song almost as an afterthought. To this day I can't think of a single song that's been improved by a remix.
I don't mind radio edits, I don't mind stuff being sampled to make totally different songs.
I just hate remixes.

In regards to remixes of rock (or anything that's not originally electronic), I agree with you nearly 100%. But remixes of electronic songs can sometimes be as great or sometimes better than the original. Or sometimes they suck too. But "dance" remixes of rock songs are generally sh
it. As are mash-ups.
