Fleetwood Mac—Rumours (1977)
It's funny, somehow I missed the Fleetwood Mac boat. I mean I was aware of them but I always vaguely thought of them as some 70s soft rock band that I wouldn't like. If you asked me to name one of their songs I'd probably be at a loss, though I'd be certain I had heard several. More recently I've started to realize how many people consider
Rumours to be a classic album and that made me curious. I was happy to discover that it really does live up to the hype and surprised-but-not-really-surprised to realize that I already knew nearly every song on the album, though I didn't know most of them were by Fleetwood Mac. This really is a fantastic album, and surprisingly mellow for being recorded by a bunch of people who were snorting truckloads of blow at the time.
