I think Radiohead, The Grateful Dead, DMB, O.A.R., and Coldplay are all boring. Phish is the most boring band I can think of off the top of my head. I can see how some people think shoegaze is boring but I find some of it (like My Bloody Valentine, Scarling, Slowdive, and especially Lush) interesting and exciting. I saw
this obscure shoegaze band live recently for $3. Between and sometimes during songs the guitarists actually got down on the floor to tweak their pedals and boxes. I'm not sure if that fiddling always improved the sound but the effects in general did lead to an impressive and unique experience that was much, much better than listening to the studio versions of their songs.
