Apparently Let Me In (2010) is actually a worth remake of the original. Everything I've read on it has been pretty generous, but I still don't think I'm going to see it. American remakes of foreign films have less to do with the director showing his appreciation for the original film and more to do about illiterate motherfuckers who can't be bothered to read subtitles with the obvious exception being The Departed (2006). For me I've seen the original Let the Right One In (2008) and read the book, and I enjoyed getting the view of another culture. Believe it or not but there do exist some Americans (and Canadians) who can actually relate to non-Americans (and Canadians), I just wish Hollywood would understand this.
