If our quality of life improves, how doesn't that make the world as a whole better? Oh man, we didn't improve the lives of ants! WHO CARES, seriously. Small things like cell phones just make daily life for people easier and more convenient, allowing for more time for other things to get done. Would you rather live in 1900 or now? I'd guesstimate 99% of people would rather live now with all of the inventions and luxurious that have been created due to HUMAN intelligence.

This is why I described your viewpoint as myopic earlier. You name a bunch of inventions that you feel benefit people in some way to prove that human intelligence somehow benefits the world while completely ignoring the fact that all of these things all have have downsides. I mean I don't need to tell you cars have negative effects on the world do I?
