I had taken my photos and papers on a 6 hour drive to Calgary to dump them off at the passport office in order to have them processed in about a month. I stopped at the passport office the morning after we arrived, and they tell me there's too much shadow on the photo and I have to have a new one done. Turns out it's Family Day in Alberta, some stupid provincial holiday, and I have to find a photographer's that's open at 8:30 on a holiday to get the picture redone.
Found one, but had it done last minute before I'd washed or groomed (since I was expecting to drop off the papers and go home), and the picture is so bad that when I was passing through LHR, the customs officer told me I looked like a drunkard.
