Phil Strongman's book about punk called, with staggering predictablitiy, Pretty Vacant.

He claims that Sid actually did kill a cat. In fact he says 'she (Syd's mum) was in a heroin haze the night that 12 yrs. old Sid killed his first cat, a despereate and bloody attempt to get his stoned mothers attention.'
He then goest on
'It was an ominous sign-nearly all those who mutilate or kill pet animals go on to mutilate or kill humans'.

He also mentions his brother 'a top dj' at something called Chinawhite too much...he only mentions him once like but...

apart from that it's not bad but I'd be amazed if there's not dozens of better books aboout punk out there. plus he looks a right vain twat on the inner backflap or w/e it's called.
There's some weird factual errors in it
1-He says Talking heads' cover Al Stewart's Take me to the river. Al Stewart????
2-He says The 'finest track on the Clash's Sandinista is Jone's should I stay or should I go!!
