i lurve that film! its one of my favourite musicals (im also a musical fan). age of aquarius is one of my favourites, and manchester england. and i love the bit where they're singing about black and white boys...only in the seventies could you get away with that. didnt like the ending though!
hmmm musicals i like...blues brothers, rocky horror, little shop of horrors, moulin rouge, evita, busgy malone (love it!), chitty chitty bang bang was quite good...and of course the old classic, the sound of music. although the film gets boring when you've seen it too much. ooh also love chicago, les miserables (that was finished on the island i live on!)...im sure theres plenty more.

and yes, west side story is loosely based on romeo and juliet
