Well, Irving's
The Cider House Rules, being one of my favorite books, dealt strongly with the issue of abortion and all of its moral gray areas from the "country doctor" perspective. Similarly, this book deals with the AIDS epidemic and its own set of ensuing issues from the same "country doctor" perspective, so I think it should be a pretty enjoyable read. I'll keep you updated.
