I don't know if that makes sense, but let's say you are in deep sleep, thinking of nothing at all. So technically, since there is no mental activity, you are dead. The same goes for meditation, since it involves clearing your mind completely. But you are still physically present in those moments, aren't you?

There is actually a lot of mental activity going on when you're asleep or meditating. So neither of those really demonstrate your point.
