You can find tons of interviews where he talks about crimes and convictions that never happened. Most artists are fabrications for marketing, but few really take it this far. He was never locked up for years or anything like that. He's just a dude who has a good voice who makes party songs.

You are a damn liar. Not only has he been arrested on multiple occasions, for a felony too, he spent time at one of America's toughest prisons. Akon is as real as they come. He has more of a criminal history that even the biggest of posers like 50 Cent. Akon has proven that he is a hard man on multiple occasions, not least when he threw a fan right off the damn stage.
