Villagers are an Irish band fronted by Conor J. O'Brien. Their debut album Becoming a Jackal was released in 2010 and was shortlisted for that year's Mercury Prize. O'Brien is noted for his dark lyrics - "an eerie sense of disquiet", according to The Guardian.

Great album. What I really love about this release is how they use the piano. It's certainly an essential instrument, but its presence is very minimal and reserved for specific melodies and hooks that often repeat with some variation. The real focus is on the singer's voice, which is insanely emotional and enthralling to listen to. I'm eager to see where this band goes in the future.
(I couldn't find the album version of this song. The live version doesn't have piano, which is really important to the sound of the band IMO)
