Default I'm flabbergasted!!

Music News, Reviews, Articles, Information, News Online & Free Music | Billboard.com
So, I was surfing Billboard.com, as I do occasionally to see if there is any good music on the charts yet, and I came across the top 10 albums list they had posted for 2010.

As the title said, I was utterly amazing at the choice they made for the top albums. There were a few albums that I thought were too alternative to make any mainstream critic's list, and there were even a couple albums that I haven't heard that I think I might listen to just because what I have heard in the list is so good. Here is their list:

10. Big Boi, "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty"
Amazing album, southern hip-hop at it's absolute best. In terms of rank, about what I expected it to get; but I was still thinking it wouldn't get what I expected.. glad it did.

9. Rick Ross, "Teflon Don"
I'm not much interested in Rick Ross; he's a fake, from rich background, pretending he's a gangsta. But this album received a lot of hype, so I'm a bit inclined to check it out. Would appreciate opinions from people who have heard this.

8. MGMT, "Congratulations"
I have heard of these guys, but didn't know they were psychedelic rock. Will be checking them out this weekend! Plus the album art just makes me think it's a good album.

7. Drake, "Thank Me Later"
Got a lot of hype, but I'm not really interested in listening to it.

6. LCD Soundsystem, "This Is Happening"
Not exactly my type of music, I don't think.. (although not much is and I haven't actually heard them) but still surprised to see this on the list, seems a bit alternative.

5. Beach House, "Teen Dream"
Haven't heard of these guys before, but another one I want to check out.

4. Mumford & Sons, "Sigh No More"
I've heard of this album quite a bit, will probably check it out as well.

3. Robyn, "Body Talk"
This was the biggest shock for me on the list! I think this was the best pop album of the year, hands down. But getting number 3 on a critics list! It only got to 142 on the Billboard 200, and had zero charting singles in the US! Wonderfully glad to see this!

2. Arcade Fire, "The Suburbs"
I've heard their previous album, Neon Bible, but I was honestly bored while listening to it. Given, my musical taste has greatly matured since then, so this might be well worth checking out.

1. Kanye West, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy"
I think this was on the top of just about every top 10 album list of 2010, but still, it is bringing alternative hip-hop forward by leaps and bounds and for that I am extremely grateful.
