I know it might seem like it but I was actually in search for alternative music forums on which I could promote my own music when I happened upon MB, so no, I wasn't looking for a virtual social circle to compensate or anything. It was just a lucky coincidence. On the other hand I've always had a withdrawn personality which sometimes has manifested itself in me resorting to activities that don't call for real-life social interaction, such as making music and writing stuff on and off internet fora. So yes, I think there may be a
general pattern there.
