Rock, jazz, and classical, for the most part.

What attracts me to music
What I really like about music is how it has the power to bring people together. I like music that is easy to listen to, music that helps me work, music with both complex and simple chord structure/form, scary music, anything really!

Franz Liszt - Totentanz

Dmitri Shostakovich - Jazz Suite No. 2: VI. Waltz II

Scott Joplin - Elite Syncopations

Charles Mingus - Boogie Stop Shuffle

Miles Davis - Flamenco Sketches

R.E.M. - Half A World Away

The Tragically Hip - Fireworks

Streetlight Manifesto - Down, Down, Down to Mephisto's Cafe

Are you attracted to the same musical qualities now as then?
I study music seriously, and as a result have come to appreciate it so much more than when I was a kid, because I know how much work goes into learning an instrument or training your voice and writing songs. I also like an artist to have a certain degree of talent, it makes the music more listenable. I'm from the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys generation of the late 90's, and that was all I cared about then in regards to music. Now I look at musical qualities from a more critical point of view.
