I went a little far to say "we," and saying all society, but I'm really just trying to express how stupid I think it is for people to put animals on the same plane as people. People like sk who have to wonder if they would rather shoot a cat or their girlfriend. In other threads I've seen people say they'd rather hit a person with their car than an animal. I feel like a lot of people don't have much sympathy for a homeless person begging for change, but all the sympathy in the world for a dog or cat or something. |
Do you think the cat would rather you shoot it than a person? In reality human beings are no more important than a rock. The concept of anything being important for that matter is a human concept.So why should humans be more important than animals?
