Actually, Urban has talked about a handful of new indie bands, and with praise too.
To me, Interpol falls into a category of boring new breed indie bands that deserve less than 1/10 of the attention they are receiving worldwide. Just because some music journalist has high regards for them, doesn't make them a good band.
