Movie was made in 1922. Frankenstein was written in 1814 (or thereabouts).
I suppose Shelley had heard of the Golem myth/legend?
It's only so similar to
Frankenstein because James Whale adopted a few scenes of
The Golem for his 1931 "definitive" version of Franky.
