Default Raconteurs- Consolers of the Lonely

I'm going to keep it somewhat simple.
Best album of the year so far. Very complete, very fresh, good to hear another band rising up to the highest level and hopefully after their next album everyone will know who they are.
The earlier tracks sound very white stripes-ish, and that makes sense as Jack white is in the band.
But the second half parts sound somewhat led zeppelin ish which was a pleasant surprise for me. But a truly great album.
Best song: Old Enough

I just checked out their cd from the library. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but I'm not a big Led Zep fan so I guess I'll have to look forward to the songs that sound like the White Stripes.

My view is that this album is absolute poo with very little to redeem it. Somebody who thinks this is the best album of 2008 so far has "monumentally" low standards. It's not even the style I've got a problem with, it's that it has so few genuinely good songs on it. With that said, it is stylistically erratic and scattered, with little red thread to tie it together.
