Default Timbaland - Timbaland Presents Shock Value

Well since it's out and people are talking about I decided to start a review of the whole album, I'll go track by track...

Oh Timbaland-Hot beat and hot piano definitely feeling the track, lyrics aren't that great but what do you expect

Give It To Me-Everbody knows the track is hot. The drums are so infectious and the lyrics are actually a little clever even if they still lack substance. A straight hot ass club banger

Release-Can't really hear Justin Timberlake on this song only at sometimes if you listen carefully. Also you can hear how Timbaland used parts of Justin's song Lovestoned on this track, very catchy.

The Way I Are-Loooovvveee the track, **** gets me pumped. Keri Hilson sounds really good on the track, not to mention the main melody of the beat is addicting

Bounce-Grrriiimmeeey club banger. I think its probably one of the most creative productions on his album. I love it all the beatbox sounds he used and that weird giggling sound he loops is weird but its cool. My sister gets so freaked out by the track lol

Come & Get Me-Beats pretty good, honestly didn't really listen to this track that much, don't really think 50 sounded good over the timbo beat.

Kill Yourself-This song is just funny, its all about Scott Storch. The beat isn't that great, I think he could have done better

Boardmeeting-Very catchy hook, and the sounds are pretty cool as well. Nice to hear Magoo on it

Fantasy-Has a very sexy sound to it, I like all the sounds Timbo is using, this whole electro feel. But problem I have with this track is that the verses sound alot like Ciara's Promise

Scream-Ehh it sounded alot like Fantasy but I liked Fantasy better, song is chill

Miscommunication-Beat is definitley hot and Keri Hilson sounds really good on the track as well

Bombay-Hoootttt song, way to use the Indian aspect. It's cool to see a huge producer like Timbaland make a straight up desi track instead of using Hindi lyrics on the hook or sampling old bollywood stuff. Jim Beanz sounded cool as hell on the song too, only problem is the song was a little too short

Throw It On Me-Personally this is the only song I didn't really like on the album, I don't know why just found it a bit annoying

Time-Like this song, definitely like the chorus with She Wants Revenge. Lyrics werent that bad on this song

One & Only-Not really a fan of Fall Out Boy but this song was pretty cool and I was feelin it pretty catchy as well

Apologize-As I said before, I thought the original was better. The beat definitely is pretty good but I liked the original better

2 Man Show-The piano was amazing on this song, thats what made the song stand out. Definitely good collabo with Timbaland and Elton.

BONUS TRACKS
Hello-Yea, didn't really like the track that much, kinda boring...

Come Around-Didn't really like it the first time I heard it but I started to feel it after that. You can see how he sampled from Shamur in Let The Music Play

Yea I was bored and I felt like typin all this up lol but yea here's my review on the whole album, all in all I thought it was hot album and I think Timbaland did a great job on it. Lacked in the lyrics department but this was more of party record rather than something with substance. So it's a pretty dope album

Peace

I am not a big fan of this sort of music, but kudos to Timbaland for subverting a basic pop sound. His approach to music; while not wholly original for those who know their stuff, is still a huge step in adding something new to popular music. His rythmns and time sigs are not the norm in chart music.

Like it or not, it's quite a solid album.

If I hate everything he's ever done will this actually make a difference to my opinion if I give it a listen?

I agree, this song is pretty damn good. Also, kudos for reviewing it song by song and not just saying "great album."

As for the originality comment I'd like to say that original music is a distant 5th to good music. And as for synapse, yeah it might so long as you haven't told yourself that you hate it and actually just haven't found other works appealing.

I havn't yet heard the album, but i LOVE Timbaland, it seems like everything he touches recently has just turned to gold! Half the songs on the radio these days he helped with!
