Default ITT: No Ripping Off Jackhammer Man. Just Reviews

I have decided that my last idea was making my tummy ache, thus I have opened a general album review topic. Hopefully people will discuss my fixings, so it doesn't look like i'm talking to myself. I'll start with my first review from my other thread.

PS: I still take requests.

Toad - Toad

I think that's the album cover but I'm probably wrong. So listening to this album was really an auditory pleasure. My main complaint would only be that every song sounds very similar to the last, but it's too much fun to mind that. The vocalist, when he decides they need a voice to come in and tell the listener there is a vocalist in a very subliminal message under the lyrics but this is just a conspiracy that we can delve into later, has a cool voice. Most of the album is jamming, which they do very well. Cool bass you can hear in the background, sweet classic rock guitar with that, and a great drummer to sandwich all this wackiness in there too. They're drummer's pretty damn good guys. It's one of those bands where the whole set plays well. I say this especially because I can actually hear the bassist play, and play well at that. I repeat, they do great jams. You can just sit back and let the music take you on a little journey through Rock and Roll. The opening is a great opening, and the ending is a climatic one. I have to say this is some damn good classic rock. Good fun, all around talent, and not a lot of variation, but I'm Ok with that since they succeed at playing good Rock.

I'd give it a 4/5 stars. Good music.

It was a good album, like I said, it was a bit repetitive, but other albums I like are repetitive and I still like it. It's one of the albums where I don't mind that factor just because it's that fun.

MC Chris is Dead - mc chris

Oh man what can I say about this album. There's a lot of great beats, all very computerized, and some great lyrics. I think I'll try a track by track review for this one, since I love all the tracks so much. I'm skipping the skits, sadly.

MC Chris is Dead - One of the strongest opening tracks I've ever heard, also one of the best rap songs I've ever heard. It has such great rhyme scheme and vocabulary and all else I love in a rap track. He does all this while sticking to the concept of him being dead. The song is a very downbeat, in his voice and in the beat. It's a bit of a paradox for the rest of the album, most of the other tracks are very upbeat. Nonetheless, this has become a favorite track for me. 10/10

Older Crowd - Here's where he starts his more upbeat and somewhat more humorous tracks (MC Chris is Dead was humorous, just not quite as much as the others) begin. The lyrics are about how old and uncool he feels. A lot of the lyrics use words and phrases that aren't used much any more, and also talks about things only old people would do, like register for voting. So the theme here is being old. Another showcase of great lyrics and rhyme scheme. Sticks to the concept here also. 9.5/10

Reese - Just a song about Reese's Pieces. He loves them a lot. You don't need an ID card, and they might give you cavities. He gives us a little history about the Reese's also. He has great rhyming speed on this track, and good flow at the same time. I'm not very into this track though; not as interesting lyrics as the others. Still good though. 8/10

Pizza Butt - Haha. Another fun song about some food. I mainly love the beat on this song, and the chorus. It's a very dance club sounding track at first, but it busts down into just a song about pizza, and how delicious it is. Pretty much just a lot of fun on this song. A little nasty at some points too. I give it a lead over Reese for the aforementioned chorus and beat. Cool guitar. 8.5/10

Hoodie Ninja - Another cool guitar and beat. Also some funny lyrics. About being a ninja, only you're all faked out. He has a ninja bag, AKA a pillow case, with varying objects in it. He starts off stalking a girl home so he can watch her undress. What a great ninja creeper. Then he goes to get revenge on his awful Nazi gym teacher. That doesn't work out. The chorus is the bomb, both of em. Sticks to the concept. 9/10

Meanwhile, while eyeballin some puss!

On* - He needs OnStar to find the clit. Nasty song. Funny as hell. A cool, mellow beat. More good rhyme scheme and whatnot, I don't think I need to mention that any more though. It's a given. So basically a song about having so much trouble finding the clit, he needs some assistance. Like that beat. I'd say it sticks to the concept of OnStar and pussy. He runs into a bear at one point (separate events). 8.5/10

Kill It
- Just a track about proving himself. Even with it being that, he's got some great lyrics on here. I especially love the everything I love about him on here. The chorus is pretty cool, with a chick making Chris to be her hero. Nice beat too. Very... i dunno, it's beeping. 9/10

Rollercoaster - mc chris has now met a girl and they went on an amusement park date. A lot of carnival ride references on here. I love the beat, cool drums and very mellow. The songs pretty good. Can't go into much detail. 8.5/10

Nrrrd Grrrl - Now Chris has fallen for a nerdy girl. Another mellow beat. He's got a lot of references to generally nerdy fields on this track, like Neon Genesis Evangelion, and about how she doesn't fit conventional areas girl usually do, ie. no perfume and whoopin heads. 8.5/10

May the force be with you.

Falynn - Have you ever met a girl and you thought she was dope? mc chris has. He's done this three times. He's mackin. I love just how this song sounds. Great music and cool flow and whatnot. Short too. 9/10

The Masturbation Song - This track is so gangster in the beat and delivery. Sounds like an old, mellow gangsta track from the 90's or something. There's even a record scratching after the verses. It's too cool. Only it's about how his reputation was destroyed because he jerked off at his friend's house. Poor Chris. I just gotta love this one. So old school. 9.5/10

Freaks - Just an adorable little song about being an outsider. Another mellow beat with cool synthesizers. I can't help but feel a little empathy on this track. Different people must always feel this way when I stick them in trash cans. 9.5/10

Never Give Up - Another adorable song about how you should never quit your goals. He looks back on his past and then sends a message about, you know... not giving up. I love the Ender's Game reference. Not much to say about this track except that it's just swell. 9.5/10

In Hell, there's a strong temperature shift.

Beetlejuice - Just mc chris telling the story of Beetlejuice on this one, and doing it well. Great, dark beat. Can't say much about this track either. Just great. 9/10

So all around:

9/10 - Great Album

Check this thing out buuuuddy.
