Playground Love (3:31), Clouds Up (1:58) and Bathroom Girl (2:26) really tells me AIR put some work into this soundtrack, so far I'm really impressed. The instraments, the atmosphere, the vocals, I'm loving it all. I'm not bored in the slgihtest, and my expectation for what this soundtrack should be is already higher then AIR's album Premiers Symptomes by a longshot. The tracks blend well and are beautiful with atmosphere. Cemetary Party (2:37) is a little repetative, but I'm durastically more entertained then most of the songs on even Moon Safari. I think it has to do with the tone of the soundtrack, its just got a feeling I can relate to. Dark Messages (2:55) is a very odd song; it's low in volume and gives me a strange feeling. Around half way through there's some eerie sound effects that remind me of some of the Donnie Darko Soundtrack. To me, this track feels like a build-up to The World Hurricane (2:33), which is melodic, beautiful, and just odd. I love this track and totally give it an A. Dirty Trip (6:13) is a little repetative, but not boring. Melodic, but with lots of sound effects. High School Lovers (2:43) and Afternoon Sisters (2:25) are almost exactly like Playground Love and Bathroom Girl except their more melodic and instramental, without any lyrics, and a bit more depressing feeling. Ghost Sound (1:52) and Empty House (2:58) aren't exactly my favorite tracks, but their still allright. Just lots of sound effects and good beats basically. Still pretty sounding though. Dead Bodies (2:08) is sort of an energetic track, I'm not digging it too much. I don't know why it's just rubbing me the wrong way. Suicide Underground (5:57) starts out with a monoloague reporting a story of a few girls killed themselves alongside some beats and sound effects. It's a great song and and permeates a layer of me that Moon Safari, much I as I like it, never did.
My Album Overview: The Virgin Suicides was actually an especially well done soundtrack. I'm suprised how much more I was not only entertained but involved in and somewhat touched by this album. Especially in comparison to the Albums AIR released previous to this one.

Good review. I've been intrigued by Air ever since I got Moon Safari (which I think is impeccable). Haven't paid much attention for some reason or another.

This one and Pocket Symphony are my least favourite Air album. I actually prefer 10,000 Hz Legend than either of those 2.

i have to be in the right mood for this one. where it's a movie soundtrack there's a very noticeable thematic melody throughout more than a few of the tracks.

dirty trip is awesome and the reason i got into air after initially writing them off as electro pop ****e when sexy boy was first released as a single.

your reviews are also a pain to read. spacing wouldn't hurt.

I know it's hard to get through a chunk of text in comparison to a song review. I tried writing a song by song review for a few albums and found it to be a really bored product when I'm finished. I think grouping songs together in a paragraph is best, especially for albums that I consider elevator music.
