You philistine.

But "Achtung Baby" is a very good album.

Even U2 would probably agree with me that the Beatles are much better and important.

As a Berliner I of course appreciate this very good Berlin song:

Album "Zooropa", 1993

I'm actually not a fan of the Beatles. I simply like all good music. But with a historical view you must admit that this band was much more important and influential than U2.

But ironically I would agree with you when you take a look at the specific sound of these bands and when you consider the different socialization of the generations.

For our ears, for the ears of younger people the Beatles sound a bit old-fashioned, childish and simple. The sound of U2 is much more sophisticated and existentialist, melancholic.

And I must admit that U2 has contributed much to pop history.

But if you abstract from these generational things then in my opinion:

Beatles > U2.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Where do I begin? The J Tree (expanded edition) is about as amazing as any 80's CD can be. Unforgettable Fire is no slouch either.

I've seen U2 in concert so many times that I have almost lost count. I'm about the same age as Bono, so yeah, I remember vividly when Boy came out, seems like ages ago (it was). At some point, I think they will call it quits, there is no need to drag things out like the Stones are doing.
