As a fan of such rappers as Nas,Biggie,Wu-Tang Clan, and Deltron 3030 i personally really enjoyed this album and am definitely going to keep it in my car stereo for a while. King Geedorah is an alias of MF Doom and this is his first full album release as King Geedorah. The character Geedorah is based on the golden three headed dragon from the godzilla movies, and the entire album is supposed to portray a space monsters perspective on humanity. The album however is the work of the group "Monsta Island Czars" so MF Doom is not the only rapper. In my opinion I thought the producer did an excellent job of creating catchy beats that werent to repetitive and did an especially good jobs in the songs Monster Zero and No Snakes Alive.

Monster Zero - Is a song created by the producer that has no actual rap in it, instead the song uses lines from different movies/tv clips to piece together the story of "King Geedorah" the deadly monster that has come to earth.

My personal favorites from this album are:

Krazy World - although the vocals sound ridiculous i cant help but be intrigued by the catchiness of it all. Its definitly not the best song on the album but its entertaining wether you can understand him or not.

Next Levels - An awesomely chill beat thats very jazzy, this was the first song to grab my attention on the album.

No Snakes Alive - this song although not as catchy as you are expecting is incredible in my opinion. The beat has alot of tension behind it and continues growing faster and faster giving you the sense of frantically running away through space trying to outrun your demise from monster zero. youll understand if you hear it.

Anti-Matter - Silly sounding but catchy and laid back. definitly a good listen

I Wonder - My favorite song on the album by far, doesnt really follow the space trend that the rest of the album has but still incredibly catchy, and emotional through out.

I Wonder

Next Levels

Overall i would give this album an 8/10.

Positives(+)
- Good Production/beats
- Talented rap that is generally easy to follow even on your first listen
- acouple really good songs that wont be forgotten anytime soon.

Negatives(-)
- alittle to many "Filler" songs that werent anything interesting to listen to.
- generally a short album, after listening all the way through i was hoping for more "Stand alone" songs that i would want to put on when i have my ipod in.

any hiphop fans should definitly check this out. thnx for reading :D

Well, you should have mentioned that King Geedorah is another alias of MF DOOM and that this album is his concept and his production. The group is essentially Monsta Island Czars so Doom only raps a little bit.
That said, I basically agree with every bit of your review. I place it near the top of Doom albums. Great choice.

woops! i was alittle "Blazed and confused" when i wrote this so forgive me for the lack of background on the group. will edit.

I'll be looking to pick this up soon. If its anthing close to as good as madvillainy, its money well spent

I wouldn't go into it expecting Madvillainy - that combo of Madlib production and Doom rapping is a pretty different animal. KG has all Doom beats (lots of symphonic soul and cartoons) and lots of bizarre styles by other rappers. But, yeah, I still find it close to as good.

It's a good album. 'I Wonder' is one of my favorites as well- sad track- and 'Fazers'.

Great review, I'd agree with your review pretty closely. And yeah it's no Madvillainy but it's still worthy of being in DOOM's collection, and that's saying something.

to be honest this album was the first time i ever heard doom so this review is not biased in any way. im definitly checking out madvillainy now though, im glad you enjoyed the review, ill try and keep them coming. :D

Superb LP. 'Fastlane' is one of my fave tunes of the whole last decade, phenomenal.
