Here's My Review of Corrosion Of Conformity's seventh studio album In The Arms Of God.
I bought this in 2005 when it came out. I didn't know what to expect from this release. Been following the band since I heard the Hardcore – Metal crossover album Animosity released in 1985. But the band would basically go on hiatus from 1987 through 1990 after the departure of original Vocalist and bassist Mike Dean. In 1991 the band reformed with Karl Agell on vocals Pepper Kennan on Guitar and Phil Swisher on Bass along with original members Woody Weatherman on Guitar and Reed Mullin on drums. This version of the band recorded Blind. The band's style had changed to a more Old School Metal sound. Gone was the Metal crossover. In 1993 Karl Agell and Phil Swisher left the fold. Mike Dean returned and Pepper Kennan took over the Vocals. This Band Recorded the classic albums Deliverence 1994, Wiseblood 1996. America's Volume Dealer 2000. Reed Mullin left the band in 2001 to be replaced by several drummers until a fulltime replacement was brought in Stanton Moore. But another hiatus came but they recorded In The Arms Of God in late 2004 and released it in early 2005.

Well like I said I bought this when it was released. This album still to this day finds it's way in my rotation. Well to me there are a bunch of stand out tracks here. First being Stonebreaker. What a way to open an album. This album is probably there heaviest album with Pepper Keenan. The band is also very solid on this album. The twin Guitar playing between Woody and Pepper is awesome. The other stand out tracks here to me are Dirty Hands Empty Pockets – Already Gone, Never Turns To More, Infinite War with Mike Dean on Vocals, So Much Left Behind. That song sticks to me all day when I here it. I would definitely recommend this for fans of the early albums with Pepper and fans of Old School Metal and Hard Rock.
