So I discovered this album nearly a month ago now, and it blew me away. This mysterious album was made by a very talented English musician named Mark Fry in 1972 when he was only 19 years of age. http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/252/457975.jpg
The album is some of the best psychedelic folk I have ever heard. Even if this isn't your usual genre, listen to it anyway.
The opening track " Dreaming with Alice " is a song that fades in and out throughout the entire album, coming in short verses throughout the entire album. Although every song for me does its job incredibly well, the ones that stand out are " The Witch ", " Roses For Columbus", "Mandolin Man", "Song For Wilde"
The songs have an intimacy, and yet a personal detachment. Mark fry is not connecting with us on a personal level, but on a subconscious/ spiritual level. The songs are surreal and abstract in lyrics and musical content. I was surprised to hear that this album did not get that much attention when it was released. I am assuming it had to do with the time it was released ( 1972 ) and the country it was released in ( Italy - Mark Fry moved there to study painting after school ). I honestly think this album might be a work of genius.

Yes. I actually saw your avatar and thought it was intriguing so I did an image search online and then it popped up Mark Fry and Dreaming with Alice. So I naturally, went on Spotify and started listening to it. And low and behold you had made a review on it as well. Rehtorb Ym No Hcram did it for me.

Hell yeah. I can't post links/videos and whatnot yet but also what about Roses for Columbus as well? Matter of fact just the whole damn thing. Revert back to your second post, it gets better with each listen. So thank you.

Roses For Colombus is probably my favourite song on the album.

Went and looked it up on spotify, sounds great. Thanks! The only song I don't like is "Lute and Flute" because of the use of the g-slur. : /
