Its too tough to compare or rate top ten among the albums created by legendary rock band, The Pink Floyd.

The Wall

Dark Side of the Moon

Wish you were here

Epidomy 12-23-2014 11:29 PM

If only Wish You Were Here was higher up, apart from that it's close to perfect.

Pet_Sounds 12-24-2014 07:33 AM

This is tough.
  1. Piper at the Gates of Dawn
  2. Dark Side of the Moon
  3. Wish You Were Here
  4. Saucerful of Secrets
  5. The Wall
  6. Animals
  7. Meddle
  8. Ummagamma
  9. Atom Heart Mother
  10. Believe it or not, The Endless River

#10 might actually be my AOTY.

EdmondCrofoot 01-05-2015 11:52 PM

The Animals reminds me of the song "animals" from Maroon 5

JMD 03-26-2015 05:19 AM

Wish You Were Here
Dark Side of the Moon
Animals
The Final Cut
The Division Bell
The Wall
A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Meddle
Obscured By Clouds

The rest of their catalogue does not interest me at all.

thebeats323 05-04-2015 02:44 PM

Agreed!

The Syd Barrett era for me was the best and most creative musically when you consider the technology that was or wasn't available at the time. Dark Side of the Moon remains a classic I feel largely for it's production. I've known hi-fi buffs who calibrate their systems using this album even though they don't particularly like it, go figure!! Mostly I like the top 10 that Mooneh has made, not really because I agree but because it's made me want to listen to them all again. My personal 5 faves in order are:

1. Piper at the gates of dawn (I could listen to Lucifer Sam all day!)
2. Wish you were here
3. Meddle
4. Dark side of the moon
5. Animals

So, there-you-go!!

The song they wrote as a tribute to Syd Barrett was better than any of the songs Syd wrote.

Interesting topic...

I agree with you.
Comfortably numb is however my best song ever for Pink Floyd.

cazpfitl 07-26-2015 01:54 PM

1. Dark Side Of The Moon
2. Division Bell
3. The Wall
4. Wish You Were Here
5. Animals
6. Atom Heart Mother
7. Meddle
8. The Final Cut
9. A Momentary Lapse of Reason
10. Relics

Roysh 07-12-2016 02:36 PM

My 10 best:

1) Animals
2) Meddle
3) The dark side of the moon
4) Atom heart mother
5) A saucerful of secrets
6) Wish you were here
7) Pulse (if it counts as an album)
8) The Wall (For me, the most overrated Pink Floyd album)
9) Piper at the gates of dawn
10) The division bell

Zhanteimi 07-12-2016 03:03 PM

I don't like enough PF albums for there to be a top ten.

Leon2g4 08-29-2016 12:07 AM

Oh jeeze... I hope this doesn't gain me enemies on here but I consider The Division Bell to be their best. I didn't realize the record was so despised. It's actually the album that turned me onto guitars.

JGuy Grungeman 08-31-2016 09:44 AM

Saucerful is the worst Floyd album I've heard. I haven't gotten to Division Bell and Endless River. Actually, I know a couple guys who say Division Bell is their favorite one.

If memory serves, Endless River is leftover material from The Division Bell. So Endless River sounds quite similar to The Division Bell but it is still worth a listen as songs like Anisina and Allons-y are worth hearing. Also glad i'm not the only one who loves The Division Bell so much.

It's not their strongest as a whole album, but Remember a Day and the title track are among their best songs.

JGuy Grungeman 09-01-2016 11:44 AM

Oh, yeah. It definitely has something to take home from. 75/100.

Meddle
Meddle
Meddle
Meddle
Meddle

All other albums are irrelevant.

About half of Meddle is irrelevant tbh. Echoes saves the day but there's a lot of filler on that one.

You really think that Seamus tops Any Colour You Like?

Yeah, actually. I like Dark Side alright but not half as much as Meddle.

Frownland 09-06-2016 12:27 PM

Gross. Even those two examples? The worst song off of Meddle versus the best song off of DSOTM?

Actually, relistening and I change my mind. Been a while since I listened to anything off this album at all.

Dude seriously how can you resist a dog howling in your ear pussy while the band plays the blues? Way ahead of there time bro.

JGuy Grungeman 09-11-2016 06:52 PM

I'd assume he'd take which option has the word "pussy."

You shouldn't use "dude" or "bro" with that avatar, man.

What's an "ear pussy"?

JGuy Grungeman 09-17-2016 12:08 PM

To be fair, I thought Any Colour You Like was one of the worse tracks (still an altogether amazing album that's clearly their best).

TheKingEdoardo 09-18-2016 07:27 PM

1) Atom Heart Mother
2) The Piper at The Gates of Dawn
3) Dark Side Of The Moon
4) A Saurceful of Secrets
5) Animals
6) Meedle
7) Wish You Were Here
8) The Wall
9) Ummagumma
10) The Endless River

LatinoChurro 10-08-2016 05:16 PM

I think my favorite Pink Floyd album is Wish You Were Here, with Dark Side being a close second.

stereoballs 11-11-2016 07:36 AM

I love Dark Side, especially since it was playing when I first scored like 20 years ago :)

Zhanteimi 11-11-2016 07:47 AM

Just shared The Final Cut with kedvesem four drinks in. It was a good way to end the evening.

Amourpropre 04-07-2017 12:33 PM

wish you were here is the best
