Pilate "Caught By The Window"

The Fall in Canada signals two things. A Summer's farewell and a return to colder temperatures. This feeling is a perfect back drop to Caught By The Window by Pilate. The entire album has a feel of Coldplay about it yet stands on its own.
End Game opens the album was a melody of rambling piano notes and builds into this epic grand offering that slips away in just two minutes and ten seconds.
Melt Into The Walls offers a similar vocal style which sets up the mood for the entire album. Shoe gazing music before the term was even thought of. The up tempo Into Your Hideout is the first hint of a song that could be played on a commercial basis in rotation. A pop song that is driven by layers of guitar riffs, hard drum beats and soaring vocals.
Mercy once again has that Coldplay feel which just wraps the listener around the lyrics and music that slides through this song.
The rest of the songs hold just as much promise as the ones that went before them. The band has made a album which spans the entire gambit of emotion that one can derive from listening to music.
Now for the bad news this may be one of the greatest unnoticed albums of the last decade. A Canadian release that never got off the ground for some unexplained reason except for those who sought it out and bought it after the Into Your Hide Out became a video success......
