Modest Mouse: Strangers To Ourselves Singles
 

My favorite band is back with 2 new songs! Modest Mouse has released "Lampshades On Fire" and "Coyotes." I thought I would shed some light on the new songs with my opinion.

Lampshades On Fire
-------------------

The first song we heard from the new album. It has the old Modest Mouse feel. The "las" in the beginning remind me of "The World At Large." (Song off of Good News For People Who Love Bad News.) I like the party-like beat and how you could dance to it. It's a fun song to listen to and learn.



Coyotes
--------------------

When I am posting this, a new song, "Coyotes," was released. The song actually has a video, not like "Lampshades On Fire." The song has a lot of acoustic guitar and sounds like Pink Floyd. The lyrics are what I love about it. The song is very deep. The song reminds me of "Autumn Beds" from the album, "No One's First, And You're Next."



These songs are great. I would give a listen to them, even if you don't really like the band.

I'm still not feeling Lampshades On Fire very much. I really like Coyotes, though. I'm looking forward to the album with actual hope and not just nostalgia after hearing Coyotes. This is gonna be an interesting year.

I agree with Overcast. I don't like Lampshades On Fire all that much. Coyotes is pretty good. I'm cautiously optimistic. I say cautiously becuause I was nay on the whole We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank situation.

Personally I really like Lampshades of Fire. I really like music with a bit of a sci-fi Twist.

Modest Mouse delay new record. My guess is cause Spider-Man's joining the MCU, so they're probably trying to squeeze him into the production as quick as possible.

Just my guess though honestly

Spiderman shall prevail.

I find this nice. Some of the melody sounds a lot like Blame It on the Tetons at around 0:55, or am I imagining things?
