About the music upload links

I was just thinking about this and their is copious amounts of active url links being posted on this site to music, which ultimately isn't a good thing to be doing with the amount of music being posted. What I suggest is people alter the url ie hxxp or such similar so it doesn't post an active link using urls on the site or even better some sort of mailing list system like what Ethan did with that thread because that way the sharing stays off the forums and is each persons responsibility to download the music. Why I am suggesting this change is because these upload sites are becoming (in yousendits case already has a great deal) more vigilant in where their links are being posted as they are well aware of people using the site for music downloading. Just a thought.

Word to that, I think people need to startt.

So whenever we post links to music you want us to use hxxp instead of http? Whats the difference... I didn't really get Adam's post

I'll try and simplify it, adam can probaly do it better cause I think he understands whats going on more then me.

Upload sites have started to become like, really strict on this sort of thing. Yousendit for instance with all its stupid new rules, & they don't like people doing it and they can track the links but if you use hxxp they can't.

I think thats what it is, I read it somewhere else so it may not be correct, but its pretty close I think.

Pretty much I'm concerned with the amount of active links from sites like sendspace, megaupload and yousendit that are being posted on musicbanter, it's pretty much like a small version of a downloading site. The point is the site could eventually get found out seeing as the amount of links posted here is quite huge and isn't really intended for this use. In a nutshell we shouldn't want musicbanter to get in shit for us posting illegal music so my theory is some type of mailing list is setup where people add their email to the list and they send in link to someone who sends them all out and the sharing thread continues as a place to ask for music but you get the music in an email format instead of posting them directly on the forum.

Or at the minimum try using the hxxp thing.

I think that we should start. PMing links, & adam like, you mean do the email thing like mx does? 'Cause that'd be cool as hell.

Yes, the email list.

They have bigger fish to fry than MusicBanter.

^ that site isn't down yet, then we have nothing to worry about. That's the 4th incarnation of the thread too. Most make it to 10000 posts in about 2 months. And more than 7500 contain an album link. Do this if you want, but I won't.

just use web1000 accounts. only 50 mb per account is the only downside.
