Metal/Rock should have own sections

I am new here but I really think that the rock and metal sections should be separate from each other because rock and metal have a lot of different bands from each other....I like metal a lot and I hate looking for threads about metal stuff....

Just my thought.

It really doesn't require much looking, rock/metal is more metal threads than rock threads especially currently. Its worked fine on other forums and I think it works fine here. Plus if they were separate all the ****ing metal purists would throw hissy fits over what goes where.

^Exactly what he said.

If we did that, all of the metal fans would get pissed when someone put A Perfect Circle where the Iron Maiden and Megadeth threads are.

Oh ok, just an idea.

What constitutes Rock and Metal is as much a sore point as sifting through EMO/NOT EMO bands. We would all be arguing the merits of our bands, and not actually making any real valid points.

sleepy jack 06-27-2007 05:58 PM

There havn't been any real problems with the emo forum threads in the past several months, in fact I havn't had to move much threads since Loser started being cool.

jackhammer 06-27-2007 06:37 PM

Loser? see what i mean? I'm completely nonplussed.

sleepy jack 06-27-2007 06:39 PM

...What?

littleknowitall 06-29-2007 06:53 PM

i understand where hes coming from, rock and metal are two of the more difinitive genres, especially with the youth of today,
i don't personally see why country should have its own forum and metal should have to share, and abut all the confusion over genre classification, is it really that important? and if so can't the mods just....i dont know...fullfill their job requirements and move the threads? it seems this place has enough posts to space out a little more and that's the first place i'd start.
That's like saying 'if we put in blogs someone might write **** blogs' - it just doesn't seem a valid enough reason to have the suggestion disregarded so quickly.

TheBig3 06-30-2007 09:09 AM

Why shouldn't country get its own forum? I mean in the past we've tried to have it share with folk and toss out the international music section, but in this context what would you have country share with?

I think the country forums main problem is that people are too cool to post there and so the alt-country bands go to the indie/alt forum.
