What happened? (emails from MB)
 

Today when I checked my email I had like 100 messages from MusicBanter, all saying so and so have replied to my thread. It's like it decided to send out all these messages at once, as some of those should've been old. I even got a "Welcome to Music Banter" message...

EDIT: Just checked spam folder and found 73 more messages...

Yeah, it's happening to some of the mods too. I woke up to 20 e-mails and I'm receiving a few more every 5 mins. :laughing:

There seems to be a glitch at the moment.
Admin have been informed and hopefully we'll get it sorted soon.

I looked in my profile and somehow I got subscribed to all those threads.

Anybody know how to block an email in Gmail so I won't get these messages?

Holy crap, I just checked my email and I have 2373 messages in my junkmail folder, almost all of them from MusicBanter.

It's futile trying to unsubscribe to threads because it doesn't make any difference for some reason.
Neither does deleting them, or choosing 'Do not subscribe' in the Default Thread Subscription Mode section of your User CP.

I added the MB email address to my contacts then blocked Music Banter from my yahoo email account and so far it seems to have done the trick.
I suggest you try that and we'll announce when the problem has been fixed so you can unblock MB at a later date.

Yeah I figured out how to block those messages with Gmail. Just go to Settings then Filters.

I got 7,900 and they are not all downloaded yet. I will watch a film in the next hour and open them back up then.

I got 900 musicbanter mails in the trashmail and 2 in the inbox. Wonder why those two didn't get filtered too :|

Added Musicbanter to the spam filters, seems to be working.

This hasn't been fixed in 4 years. I wouldn't hold your breath just yet.

Yeah, same here. True, emptying the junk folder takes a few seconds, but it's still pretty ****ing annoying though

i deleted the email address that i signed up with, so i never get any emails for anything.

If you only used it for MB...why bother?
And all you had to do was block MB's address anyway.

i didn't just get it for mb, i used it before but i had to get a new one for school so i just deleted it.

I just applied a filter in gmail and so all MB mails get the appropriate tag, are marked as read and automatically get archived.

Yeh yesterday I got 3000 emails in under an hour, so I just created a filter for everything from MB

Well so did I. But when I post it automatically subscribes me to the thread with an email notification, even though my profile says not to send emails to me.

I just stopped subscriptions altogether and then deleted all my subscribed threads, took ****ing ages.

I love the subscribed threads feature.
